Even if winter hasn't quite left our backyards, Spring arrived yesterday at
Saks Fifth Avenue. Guests of a Spring 2009 "Want It!" fashion show benefiting
The Esplanade Association - hosted by Frances Rivera - caught a glimpse of what's to come this season.

With the rise of the new
Mandarin Oriental hotel in the Back Bay, a number of other top names also took residence. There is Chef Frank McClelland's french eatery
L'Espalier, athletic apparel retailer
Lululemon, Elan Sassoon's
Mizu salon, and most recently, Italian fashion house
Gucci. Located next to the Prudential Center on Boylston Street, Gucci's new address is a hot spot for international tourists. Their grand opening party took place last night to a crowd of Boston's most fashion conscious citizens.
Hosts for the evening Corinne Grousbeck, Patty Ribakoff and Beth Madison with Gucci manager Brian Litt.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the
MassGeneral Hospital for Children.

New Englanders unable to attend the Academy Awards in Hollywood chose to spend their night toasting with the
Ellie Fund for Oscar Night America at
The Langham Boston. Each year this party gets even better and Sunday evening was no exception!

Harry Connick Jr. is in town until Sunday performing his holiday album at the Colonial Theater. Following Friday night's show, Connick Jr. attended a private benefit for
Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer. Connick Jr.'s Mother died of Ovarian Cancer - he spoke of his support for Ovations for the Cure, and noted the achievements that Ovations has accomplished since it's creation.
